Atlantic Canada — As we gear up for Computer Science Week, December 9–13, we are reminded of the importance of fostering digital literacy and innovation in youth across our communities. Brilliant Labs is thrilled to announce that it has received a $25,000 Rogers Youth Grant to support its collaboration with Workforce Warriors on the Reach for the Stars program. This initiative will empower Indigenous youth in remote Atlantic Canadian communities through hands-on ICT programs, introducing them to fields like artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and information and communications technology (ICT). Together, we’re bridging the digital divide and inspiring the next generation of innovators.

This initiative will expose youth to high-demand areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and ICT. By introducing these skills, the program inspires youth to become future innovators while addressing the digital skills gap in underrepresented communities.

“Thanks to the $25,000 Rogers Youth Grant and our partnership with Workforce Warriors on the Reach for the Stars program, we can now reach Indigenous youth in remote communities that have faced barriers to accessing programming in the past,” said Jeff Willson, Executive Director of Brilliant Labs. “This support enables us to provide transformative experiences in technology and creativity, helping youth develop skills and confidence that will benefit them for years to come.”

Their investment is helping to ensure more young people have the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in today’s digital world.
