Inspiration Makers!
This year Brilliant Labs is looking for teachers and students who inspire others to be their best and who are taking chances to innovate education through hands-on STEAM learning. We’re pleased to share this New Brunswick’s “Inspiration Maker!”
Dylan Saulnier, Harbour View High School, NB
Meet Dylan Saulnier, our talented co-op student, was asked to take on the exciting challenge of developing a Visitor Tracking System for Brilliant Labs’ maker space in Saint John, New Brunswick. The objective? To create a sleek and portable mat that not only counts the number of guests entering our Lab but also seamlessly displays this data on our website in real-time.
Dylan’s journey began with the instruction to create mat to track foot traffic for statistical purposes, Dylan started on the task of designing and coding a specialized mat capable of accurately counting the number of visitors.
After days of coding and testing, Dylan successfully completed a small-scale version of the mat, demonstrating its functionality. The prototype was met with enthusiasm from the Brilliant Labs team, who recognized the potential of this innovation in providing valuable insights into Lab’s utilization and engagement. By making the mat portable, Brilliant Labs can take the tracking system to special events, conferences, and workshops, providing an engaging and interactive way to monitor attendance.
To bring a touch of visual appeal to the project, Dylan collaborated with Bryan Gillette for the design graphics. Bryan’s creative input promises to transform the functionality of the mat into an aesthetically pleasing and seamlessly integrated feature of our office space and events. As the project progresses, the Brilliant Labs community eagerly anticipates the final implementation of the Visitor Tracking System.
